About
Welcome to the Nuclear Tech Mod Remake's website! Anything related to the remake ranging from news to (not-yet-existing) API documentation can be found here. Oh, and sometimes there are a bit more personal ramblings and rants published here. Don't worry about those too much.
Nuclear Tech Mod Remake
The remake is a project that aims to deliver a complete rewrite of the original Nuclear Tech Mod by HbmMods, a mod for Minecraft 1.7.10 that started off being about survival-obtainable nukes, at some point became memes and references galore, got major reworks and more additions over the years, and is now a mod about all sorts of technology, weapons and nuclear technology while still being memes and references galore with a steadily increasing connection to the equine. Not only that, the original is still actively developed as of 2025, continuously receiving content updates.
Amazing, isn't it?
That said, the remake was started in the second half of 2019 out of great fascination for the original and a wish to see it on newer Minecraft versions to be able to play with other, more updated mods. As a side quest, there are quite a few UX improvements and a cleaner codebase.
Due to various circumstances, version chasing and a personal quirk of making spontaneous long-term decisions, the remake is still an ongoing effort. One of these spontaneous long-term decisions was the beginning of Project Sorcerer, a piece of software meant to aid me in developing the mod for multiple Minecraft versions at once. As long as base Minecraft receives updates, the remake will never reach its true goal of being a modern Minecraft port, and just chasing version after version and consequentially having to drop support for older versions doesn't really make players happy either.
Current state of the mod
Quite honestly, not ready for any sort of use other than testing and playing with outdated ported features. There are currently other things in focus (which are still related to the remake!), for more information check out the development page.
Credits
This project is a rewrite and port for several Minecraft™ versions. The original was created for the 1.7.10 Minecraft version by different people and contributors since 2014.
Because this project is a complete rewrite (in a different language and version), most code contributions made to the original don't directly apply here.
However, textures, models, sounds and other assets, or some algorithms, have mostly been taken directly from the original.
The one originally responsible for the port: MartinTheDragon
Original Creator: HbmMods aka. The Bobcat
Praise goes out to all the following people who have taken part in the mod's development, be it original or remake!
